8 medium-sized ripe bananas, but firm
4 large scoops of vanilla ice cream

Peel the bananas and set them aside
In a large skillet, melt the butter or margarine over medium heat
Add the bananas, brush with lemon juice, and cook, turning occasionally until they're tender
Mix the banana puree and cinnamon, sprinkle it over the bananas, and let it sit over low heat until the puree thickens
Pour the brandy into a cup
Light it on fire by leaning the cup slightly to flambe the drink
Pour the still-flaming liquor over the bananas
Serve two warm bananas with one scoop of ice cream each, and enjoy your flambéed banana with ice cream
Something extra: If you like, add a pinch of red pepper
