For each serving, cut a peeled banana lengthwise. Place it on a plate with the cut side down. Top with ice cream or vanilla, and then cover with chocolate. For the chocolate, combine 60g of dark chocolate, half a cup of water, one and a half cups of red karo syrup, a pinch of salt, and one teaspoon of vanilla extract. In a saucepan over low heat, cook the grated dark chocolate with the water for two minutes, or until it thickens. Remove from heat. Gradually add the Karo and salt. Cook slowly for 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the vanilla extract. Serve warm over the ice cream.
