3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
2 tablets of baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup olive oil
1 1/4 cups warm water
1 egg white
1 tablespoon water
sesame seeds or poppy seeds
salt and onion or garlic
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
2 tablets of baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup olive oil
1 1/4 cups warm water
1 egg white
1 tablespoon water
sesame seeds or poppy seeds
salt and onion or garlic
Mix 1 cup of flour with the yeast, baking powder, and salt in a bowl
Add the olive oil and warm water
Beat at medium speed for about 2 minutes, scraping the sides of the bowl occasionally
Add 1/2 cup of flour
Beat at high speed for 2 minutes
Gradually add the remaining flour as needed to form a soft dough that pulls away from the sides of the bowl
Place the dough on a floured surface and shape into a ball with hands well dusted with all-purpose flour
Open the dough into a rectangle measuring 25 x 20 cm
Cut out 40 strips, each 5 cm long and 2 cm wide
Twist the strips twice and place in a greased baking sheet, allowing them to roll around and coat evenly
Cover with a cloth and let rise in a protected area for about 15 minutes
Beat the egg white lightly and add 1 tablespoon of water
Mix well
Dip each croissant-like bite into the egg mixture and sprinkle with sesame seeds or poppy seeds
Bake in a moderate oven (180°C) preheated for about 25 minutes, or until golden brown
Make 40 croissant-like bites.
