In a pan, mix the sugar, vinegar, and wheat flour paste
Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly
Reduce heat and simmer for a few minutes until the mixture thickens
Add the beetroot slices and season to taste
Stir carefully to coat the beetroot with the sauce
Cover and simmer for another 10 minutes
Remove from heat and let cool
Serve in 4-6 portions
TO FREEZE - Place in a firm container, cover, and put in the freezer
TO DEFROST AND SERVE - Place frozen beetroot slices in a pan, cover, and warm over low heat
Add 2 tablespoons of water and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, to separate the beetroot slices
Adjust seasonings and serve on a heated plate
