4 beef steaks (about 600g)

3 tablespoons of butter or margarine
2 cups of beef broth
1/3 cup of red wine
1 tablespoon of cornstarch

Season the beef and pan-fry it in butter
While that's cooking, reduce the beef broth by half
Dissolve the cornstarch in the red wine and add it to the broth, stirring well
Simmer, but don't let the sauce boil (or the flavor of the wine will disappear)
Serve over the beef
