Beat the butter until creamy and light
Add the sugar and egg, beating well to combine
Add the melted chocolate, vanilla extract, flour, and salt
Mix until just combined
Mix everything together very well
Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie
Place a pecan half or piece in the center of each cookie, pressing to shape
Bake in a preheated oven at 200° for 10 minutes
Remove from the oven still warm.
