1 cup of buttermilk
3/4 cup of melted butter or margarine
1 cup of golden Karo syrup
1 cup of sugar
6 cups of all-purpose flour, sifted
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons of ground ginger
4 tablespoons of baking soda
1 tablespoon of grated lemon zest
1 cup of buttermilk
3/4 cup of melted butter or margarine
1 cup of golden Karo syrup
1 cup of sugar
6 cups of all-purpose flour, sifted
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons of ground ginger
4 tablespoons of baking soda
1 tablespoon of grated lemon zest
Mix the melted butter or margarine, Karo syrup, and sugar
Add buttermilk and remaining ingredients to form a firm and smooth dough
Refrigerate until ready to roll out
Roll out thinly on lightly floured surface
Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutter
Place on greased baking sheets
Bake in moderate oven for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown
Allow to cool before storing in an airtight container.
