Cream the butter and gradually add the sugar, beating well
Add the egg white and beat again
Gradually add the flour twice, mixing well each time
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of 1/2 cm
Cut into slices approximately 3 1/2 inches long
Place the slices in an ungreased baking sheet
Beat the egg whites until stiff
Add 1/2 cup granulated sugar gradually, beating constantly until the mixture forms a meringue-like consistency
Add the grated lime zest
Place 1 tablespoon of meringue on each biscuit, shaping it into a pointed form or use a piping bag
Bake in a preheated slow oven (100°C) for 20 minutes
Let cool for about 2 days
Note: To make chocolate biscuits, add 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder to the dough.
