3 cups of all-purpose flour, sifted

1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1 cup of butter, softened
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon of orange extract
1/2 cup of mandarin oranges, peeled and segmented, cut in half

Sift together the dry ingredients
Add the softened butter to small pieces and mix lightly until combined
Add the egg, slightly beaten, and orange extract
Mix well until the egg is fully incorporated
Shape into small balls
Press gently with a fork to achieve a thickness of approximately 1 cm
Garnish with mandarin orange halves
Bake in a baking dish for about 20 minutes or until lightly browned
Yield: Approximately 5 days
