Sift the flour with sugar, on the work surface
Add the butter, eggs, and milk
Mix everything by hand until the dough comes away from your fingers
Let the dough rest for half an hour while you prepare the walnut topping: cook 1/2 cup of water with 150g of sugar until thickened
Then add 300g of walnuts, 1 tablespoon of milk, and 20g of butter
Roll out the dough on a greased tray and place the walnut topping and a meringue made from beaten egg whites on top
Bake in a hot oven and then cut into pieces of 2 by 5 cm using a wet knife
Cover the pieces with a glaze made from 125g of confectioner's sugar and 1 beaten egg white for 20 to 30 minutes.
