1 3/4 cups of wheat flour
1/2 cup of anise or white wine
3 tablespoons of sugar
2 tablespoons of butter
1 tablespoon of baking powder
4 eggs
For frying
2 cups of olive oil
To decorate
Sugar and cinnamon in pieces
1 3/4 cups of wheat flour
1/2 cup of anise or white wine
3 tablespoons of sugar
2 tablespoons of butter
1 tablespoon of baking powder
4 eggs
For frying
2 cups of olive oil
To decorate
Sugar and cinnamon in pieces
On a clean surface, sprinkle a little flour and spread it out
With the remaining flour make a mound with a hole in the middle, add the eggs, sugar, butter, baking powder, anise, and mix until you get a homogeneous dough
Roll it out very thinly (about 3 mm) with a rolling pin
Cut into strips of 2 by 27 cm
Take a strip and hold its sides together, using your index finger and thumb, about 2 cm apart
With one hand grasp one end
Twist the strip to form a sort of rose shape
As you roll, press the edges to glue a layer onto another
Do the same with the other strips until the dough runs out
Fry the biscuits in hot olive oil
Remove and sprinkle them with sugar and cinnamon while still warm
If desired, drizzle with honey
Let it cool and serve.
