Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C)
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and confectioners' sugar until light and fluffy
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract
With a spoon, mix in the flour, baking soda, and salt
Add the chocolate, rolled oats, shredded coconut, and chopped pecans and mix until well combined
Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of the dough onto an ungreased baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie
Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown
