Beat the eggs until they thicken and turn light yellow
Gradually add the sugar and beat well
Add the boiling water gradually, beating for an additional 15 minutes
Sift the flour with the remaining ingredients
Add the egg mixture to the batter
Pour the batter into two 20 cm (8 inch) round cake pans, greased and floured
Bake in a moderate oven for 30 minutes
Remove from molds, let cool; fill and top with your preferred glaze and filling.
