1 Peel the okra and cook it until it's tender
Drain and press the okra while it's still warm
2 In a bowl, mix together the okra, butter, egg, grated cheese, chopped onions, flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper
3 Shape the fritters using two spoons and fry them in hot oil
4 Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels
Serve immediately.
