7 tablespoons of olive oil
7 cloves of garlic, minced
800g of cooked and mashed cassava
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon of salt
400g of ground beef
1 tablespoon of oregano
2 tablespoons of chopped scallion (or parsley)
400g of fresh Minas cheese, cut into slices
7 tablespoons of olive oil

Heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan and sauté half the garlic until it starts to brown
Add the mashed cassava and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute
Remove from heat, add the egg, half the salt, mix well, and set aside
In a large frying pan, heat the remaining olive oil and garlic and fry until it starts to brown
Add the ground beef and oregano and cook, stirring constantly, for 10 minutes or until the meat is browned and the liquid has evaporated
Mix in the scallion and remaining salt
Grease a loaf pan with butter, divide the cassava mixture into three parts, and use one part to line the bottom of the pan
Place half the ground beef on top, followed by half the Minas cheese
Repeat this process, ending with the cassava
Bake in a moderate oven (180°C) for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
