2/3 cup of margarine
1 1/2 cups of sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon of almond extract
2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons of active dry yeast
2/3 cup of milk
4 egg whites
1/2 teaspoon of salt

Preheat the oven to medium (180°C)
Grease a 30 cm diameter cake pan with margarine, line the bottom with parchment paper and grease it as well
In a stand mixer, beat the butter until light and fluffy
Gradually add the sugar, beating until smooth
Add the extracts
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and yeast
Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with milk, beating until smooth
In another bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form
Add the salt and beat until firm peaks form
Fold the egg whites into the batter with care
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
Let cool before serving
