Grease a 9-inch round cake pan with butter. Reserve
In a mixer, beat the butter with the lime zest and sugar until light and fluffy
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition
Remove the mixer, add the flour mixture, and mix well
Transfer the batter to the prepared cake pan and bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes or until the top is golden brown
Remove from the oven, place the cake pan on a wire rack, and puncture the surface of the cake with a fork
For the glaze: In a bowl, mix all the ingredients until smooth
With a spoon, spread this mixture over the cake in thin layers
