2 tablespoons of orange juice
Place egg yolks, sugar, orange peel, orange juice, and lime zest in a bowl
Bate with an electric mixer at medium speed for about 10 minutes until you get a thick and fluffy mixture. Reserve
Beat the egg whites until they form stiff peaks
Gradually add the sugar to the egg whites while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form again
Add the orange glaze to the egg yolk mixture and mix carefully
Add the all-purpose flour to this mixture, gradually, and mix carefully
Pour the batter into two round cake pans, greased, with a diameter of 22.5 cm, and bake in a moderate oven (170°C) for about 35 minutes
Remove from the oven, let cool, and unmold
Cover the cakes with orange glaze, place one on top of the other, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour
Orange Glaze: Mix grated orange peel with 1/2 cup of sugar. Reserve
Beat egg whites until they form stiff peaks
Gradually add the sugar mixture with orange peel to the egg whites while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form again.
