For the glaze
2 cups confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons cognac
2 tablespoons milk
In a food processor, puree the plums until smooth and reserve
In an electric mixer, cream together the butter and confectioners' sugar for 5 minutes or until light and fluffy
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition
Add the prune puree and beat for another minute
Gradually add the flour mixed with yeast, alternating with yogurt and mixing after each addition
Transfer to a 24cm (9.5in) round cake pan greased with butter and bake in a preheated moderate oven at 180°C (350°F) for 1 hour and 10 minutes
Reduce the oven temperature to 150°C (300°F) and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean
Let cool
Turn out onto a plate and let cool completely
In a bowl, beat the egg whites with a fork until frothy
Dip the grapes, remove with a fork leaving excess syrup behind and coat with confectioners' sugar
Transfer to an air drying rack
Prepare the glaze
In a bowl with confectioners' sugar, gradually add the cognac and milk, beating with a fork until stiff peaks form
Pour over the cake
When set, decorate with grapes and gummies in the center and serve.
