Cake:
4 eggs
2 cups of sugar
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon of salt
2 teaspoons of active dry yeast
1 cup of milk
2 tablespoons of unsalted butter or margarine
Filling:
4 egg yolks
1 cup of sugar
2/3 cup of cornstarch
1 1/2 cups of hot water
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
2 cups of pineapple filling, chopped
Glaze:
12 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
2 cups of milk
2 cups of unsalted butter
2 cups of sugar
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
Cake:
4 eggs

Filling:

Glaze:

2 cups of unsalted butter

For the cake: beat the eggs until they're frothy
Add the sugar gradually, beating continuously
Add the vanilla extract
Separately, sift together the flour, salt, and yeast
Combine with the eggs and beat well
Heat the milk to a simmer
Remove from heat and add the butter or margarine
Mix until melted
Add to the batter and mix with a wooden spoon
Pour into a round 30cm-diameter greased cake pan and bake in a hot oven (200°C) for about 45 minutes or until cooked
Let cool for 10 minutes and then remove from the pan
Prepare another recipe
Let cool completely
Make the filling: mix all ingredients in a saucepan and cook over low heat until thickened
Let cool to use
Cut the two cakes in half
Place one half on the serving plate
Spread some of the filling and cover with the other cake half
Repeat with the rest of the filling and the remaining cake pieces
Cover with the glaze made as follows: combine the flour in a saucepan
Add the milk gradually, mixing constantly to combine well
Heat over low heat, mixing constantly until thickened
Let cool completely (at least 2 hours)
Beat the butter until light and fluffy
Add the sugar gradually, beating continuously
Add the vanilla extract and beat well
Add the cornstarch mixture to the butter mixture and beat until smooth
Pipe onto a cake or other desired shape
