Mix the coffee, sugar, and cocoa powder in a saucepan
Let it simmer for 10 to 15 minutes
Let it cool
Beat the butter or margarine, then gradually add 1 cup of sugar, beating until light and fluffy
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well
Mix and sift the remaining ingredients
Alternate adding the coffee mixture with the flour and sugar
Mix well
Bake in a small baking dish (34 cm x 23 cm) in a moderate oven preheated for about 1 hour
Let it cool
Cut into squares and sprinkle with confectioner's sugar, if desired.
