Sift the flour with the yeast
Beat the butter or margarine with the brown sugar until well combined
Add the egg yolks and vanilla extract, and beat thoroughly
Alternate adding the sifted ingredients and milk, beating thoroughly
Add the beaten egg whites and chopped cashews, and mix well
Pour into a shallow rectangular pan and bake in a moderate oven for 50 minutes.
