1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
2 tablespoons sugar
1 egg
1 cup caramel sauce
1 cup warm black beer
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons chopped crystallized fruits

In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy
Add the egg and mix well
Add the caramel sauce and beer, and mix until smooth
Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt
Add to the previous mixture and beat until smooth
Add 3 of the tablespoons of chopped crystallized fruits and mix well
Grease and flour a round cake pan or rectangular baking dish with dimensions 18 x 25.4 cm
Pour the batter into the prepared pan
Tap the pan gently on the countertop to remove any air bubbles
Bake in a moderate oven (180°C) for about 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
Serve with whipped cream, sprinkled with remaining crystallized fruits
Cut into squares or slices as desired
