1 cup of crushed savory crackers
750 g ground beef
2/3 cups tomato paste
2 eggs
1 medium finely chopped onion
1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper
salt and pepper to taste
1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese passed through a sieve
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1 pinch of dried oregano

Reserve 1/2 cup of crushed crackers
Mix the remaining crackers with the beef, tomato paste, eggs, onion, green pepper, salt, and pepper
Press half of the mixture into the bottom of a 20x20x5 cm refractory mold
Mix the reserved crackers with the remaining ingredients
Spread evenly over the beef in the mold
Cover with the remaining beef
Bake in a moderate oven for 1 hour
Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving
Serve in 8 portions.
