500 g of ground meat
1/4 cup of fine cornmeal
4 tablespoons of finely chopped onion
3 tablespoons of ketchup
to taste, salt and black pepper
2 lightly beaten eggs
1 can of green corn or 1 package of frozen corn (200 g)
1/2 cup of grated Minas cheese
1 tablespoon of ketchup for brushing

Preheat the oven to moderate temperature (180°C)
In a large bowl, mix together the ground meat, fine cornmeal, onion, ketchup, salt, black pepper, and eggs
Mix well
Press half the mixture into a rectangular refractory dish measuring 17 x 26 cm
Cover with the corn, leaving the edges free
Dust with grated Minas cheese
Fill with the remaining meat mixture, pressing firmly
Bake for about 1 hour or until golden brown and firm
Drain any excess liquid or fat from the dish
Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving
Brush with ketchup.
