1/2 cup of crushed saltine crackers
750g ground beef
2/3 cup of tomato paste
2 eggs
1/2 cup of finely chopped onion
1/4 cup of finely chopped green pepper
salt and pepper to taste
Filling:
1/2 cup of crushed saltine crackers
1 1/2 cups of ricotta cheese
1/2 cup of canned mushrooms, finely chopped
1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley
1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano
1/2 cup of crushed saltine crackers

In a large bowl, combine 1/2 cup of crushed saltine crackers, the ground beef, tomato paste, eggs, onion, green pepper, salt, and pepper
Mix well
Spoon half of the mixture into a round or square baking dish or small casserole
Mix the filling ingredients and spread them over the meat mixture in the baking dish
Top with the remaining meat mixture
Bake in a moderate oven for about 40 minutes
Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
