1 cup of butter or margarine

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

1 teaspoon of vanilla

Beat the butter or margarine until creamy
Gradually add the sugar, beating well after each addition
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition
Mix in the flour, baking powder, chocolate, and cinnamon
Alternate adding the dry ingredients to the butter mixture with the milk, mixing well
Add the vanilla and mix
Pour the batter into an ungreased tube pan or Bundt pan and bake at 150°C for about 1 hour or more if necessary
Let it cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack
Serve warm, dust with powdered sugar, or top with whipped cream, fruit preserves, or chocolate glaze (see recipes ahead)
