Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions
Grease a round 23cm-diameter pan
Distribute the orange peel in the bottom of the pan with the outer side facing down, so that they resemble flower petals
In the center, place the cherries well apart from each other to form the core of the flower
Pour the cake batter carefully over the top without disturbing the placement of the oranges in the pan
Bake at moderate heat (170°C) until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
Let it cool slightly
Unmold onto a round plate.
