Beat 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of butter and 5 eggs. Beat very well. Add 2 cups of all-purpose flour sifted together with 1 tablespoon of baking powder and 4 tablespoons of cocoa powder. Beat until a smooth cream forms. Pour the batter into a greased and floured tube pan or angel food cake pan. Bake in a preheated oven for about 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Remove from oven, let cool, and turn out onto a wire rack. Prepare the glaze: combine 1/2 cup of milk with 250g of chopped chocolate. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate is melted. Stir well and pour over the cake.
