Preheat the oven
Dust a rectangular baking dish with paper (the dish should be approximately 22 x 12 x 7 1/2 cm)
Whisk together the dry ingredients in a bowl
Add the butter or margarine, vanilla extract, eggs, and milk
Whisk until well combined
Beat with an electric mixer for 2 minutes
Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl constantly
Beat for another 2 minutes
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish
Bake in a moderate oven, approximately 1 hour.
