Preheat the oven
Grease and flour two round cake pans of 20cm diameter
Sift together the flour, yeast, and salt
Beat the butter or margarine with the egg yolks and granulated sugar in an electric mixer at high speed for about 3 minutes
Gradually add the flour alternately with the milk and vanilla extract, beating at low speed, starting and ending with the flour
Scrape down the bowl several times
Pour the batter into the prepared pans
Bake in a moderate oven for 30-35 minutes or until the cake is done

This cake is quick, made with ingredients you always have at home, and worth making to use up leftover egg yolks.
