Two-thirds cup of sugar

One egg, lightly beaten
100 grams of semi-sweet chocolate
One-half cup of butter or margarine
One cup of sugar
One teaspoon of vanilla extract

Melt the 2/3 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of milk, egg, and semi-sweet chocolate in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the chocolate has melted and the mixture reaches a simmer
Remove from heat and let cool slightly
Adequately combine the 1 cup of sugar, butter or margarine, beaten eggs one at a time, and vanilla extract
Gradually add the flour mixed with baking soda, alternating with milk, stirring just until smooth
Melt the chocolate in a separate place and let it cool
Pour into two 20-centimeter diameter pans greased and floured, bake in a moderate oven (180°C) for about 30 minutes or until inserting a toothpick comes out clean
Let cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pans
Frost with frosting and whipped cream (see recipe)
If desired, freeze without frosting and topping, then thaw at room temperature
