1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda special for cooking
2/3 cup melted butter or margarine (slightly softened)
2/3 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Sift together in a large mixing bowl: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda
Add the melted butter or margarine, buttermilk (2/3 cup), and vanilla extract
Beat well for 2 minutes, scraping down the sides of the bowl
Turn off the mixer
Add the eggs and 1 1/3 cups of buttermilk
Beat for another 2 minutes, always scraping down the sides of the bowl
Ready..
Now it's time to grease a rectangular baking dish or two cake pans and dust them with flour
Bake in a moderate oven for 30-35 minutes.
