1 cup of cornmeal
1 cup of milk
11/2 cup of butter
1/2 cup of vegetable shortening
2 eggs

Preheat the oven to medium temperature
Pour the milk, cornmeal, and vegetable shortening into a saucepan
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer
Add the cornmeal and stir until it comes off the bottom of the pan
Remove from heat and let cool
Break an egg at a time and mix with a wooden spoon until smooth
Remove small portions (two and a half tablespoons) and shape into balls
Pour onto greased baking sheets and bake for 40 minutes.
