Kreplach are a type of ravioli served in a chicken broth. The rings of fat floating on top of the soup symbolize prosperity, and they're a blessing for the Shabbat meal. Kreplach also symbolize prosperity because they have the shape of small pouches.
The Soup:
1 chicken
salt and pepper to taste
12 or more cups of water
2 carrots
1 celery stalk
1 sweet potato
1 onion
200g of pork
The Dough:
2 cups of wheat flour
2 eggs
3 tablespoons of water
The Filling:
1 1/2 cup of cooked chicken, ground
1 finely chopped onion
3 tablespoons of chicken fat
1 tablespoon of bread crumb
1 egg
salt, pepper, and nutmeg to taste

The Dough:

The Filling:
1 1/2 cup of cooked chicken, ground

Chop the chicken and all the vegetables
Combine the seasonings
Simmer slowly until everything is cooked
Strain the soup, but don't discard the fat
If necessary, add more water
Use 1 1/2 cups of ground pork for the kreplach filling
The Dough: Place the flour on a table, make a depression in the middle and put the eggs and water there
Mix and knead until the dough is elastic
When the dough is elastic, roll it out thinly
For the filling, grind the chicken with the onion
Add the fat, bread crumb, egg, and seasonings
Cut the dough into 5cm squares and place a ball of filling in the middle of each one
Fold the dough in half, covering the filling, and press the edges tightly, forming a triangle
Lift the two ends to form a 'pouch'
Place in boiling water or the soup until the kreplach rise to the surface
Reduce heat and simmer for another 10 minutes.
