Whisk the egg whites until frothy and combine with the remaining ingredients
Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan
Spread the batter onto a greased surface
Let cool
Remove to spoonfuls (or 1/2 cup) and shape into balls
Place each ball onto a baking sheet
Top each with a half walnut
Let dry completely
Transfer to paper molds
