For the dough
1 cup of warm water
1 tablespoon of salt
1 tablespoon of butter
1 tablespoon of egg whites
2 eggs
3 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour (450g)
3 cups of vegetable oil for frying
For the filling
4 1/3 cups of sugar (780g)
8 cloves
Cinnamon to taste
4 cups of freshly grated coconut
12 lightly beaten eggs

Make the dough: mix the warm water with salt, butter, egg whites, and eggs
Add the flour and mix until a smooth dough forms
Knead until the dough is smooth
Let it rest for 15 minutes
Roll out the dough thinly, cut into 1cm strips, and wrap around metal donut molds
Leave a small border free to facilitate removal from the mold
Fry in hot oil until golden brown
Let cool and remove from the mold
Make the filling: combine sugar with 2 cups of water in a saucepan and bring to a boil until it reaches a thick consistency
Remove from heat, add clove, cinnamon, and coconut
Mix well
Let cool slightly and add lightly beaten eggs
Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens at the bottom of the pan
Let cool and fill donuts
