4 oranges, peeled
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons Karo syrup
1 cup Marsala wine

Cut the oranges into quarters and remove the pulp
Place the peels in a pot with water to cover them and bring to a boil
Cover and simmer until the peels are soft
Drain and remove any white pith from the peels using a spoon
Cut the peels into thin strips with a kitchen shears
For later use, set aside
Mix sugar, 1/2 cup water, and Karo syrup in a pot
Add the cut peels and simmer until they become transparent
Pour in Marsala wine and stir until the syrup is liquid again
Pour into a glass jar with a lid and store in the refrigerator
Allow to mature for a week before using
Serve with egg custard, vanilla ice cream, or chocolate ice cream
