6 cups of water
1 kg of pecans (from Christmas)
1 kg of brown sugar
1 1/2 cup of water
1 1/2 cup of rum
Half an orange cut into thin slices

In a medium saucepan, bring the 6 cups of water to a boil
Add the pecans
Let it cook on low heat for about 1 hour, until they're very tender
Shake and remove the skins
Rinse
Mix in the brown sugar, water, rum, orange slices, and ginger
Pack the pecans into sterilized jars
Pour the syrup over the top and add a slice of orange to each jar
Tightly seal
No need to process with boiling water
Yield: 1 1/2 liters.
