Grease a baking dish not too shallow
Line the bottom with tomatoes
Place the onions on top
Mix together the olive oil, white wine, seasonings, and raisins
If necessary, add more liquid to cover the onions and a little water
Cover and bake in the oven for about 35 minutes
Serve directly from the baking dish
If desired, remove the lid during the last 15 minutes to let the sauce thicken slightly
