4 medium onions, cut into rings
1 slice of bacon, cut into small squares
1 tablespoon of green pepper, finely chopped
1/2 small garlic clove, minced
1/2 cup of tomato sauce (200g)
1/4 cup of shredded cheese
salt and black pepper to taste

Roast the onion rings in boiling water with salt for about 10 minutes, or until they're tender
Drain well
Place them in a baking dish
Fry the bacon until it's crispy
Remove from the skillet and drain
Add the green pepper, garlic, and fry in the bacon fat
Combine the tomato sauce, ham, and season to taste
Pour over the onions
Bake in a moderate oven (180°C) for about 20 minutes, uncovered
Sprinkle with cheese and bacon, then bake until the cheese is melted
Serve 4 portions.
