Preheat the oven to 350°F (moderately hot)
Whisk together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined
Gradually add in the flour and other dry ingredients while whisking
Add in the pecans and chocolate chunks
Dollop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough onto a baking sheet, leaving about 5 cm between each cookie
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly golden
