Chop the garlic into cubes and brush with lemon juice. Reserve
Melt the butter with olive oil over low heat
Add the onion and cook for about 4 minutes
Add the brown sugar and
cook until slightly caramelized and soft
Stir occasionally
Increase the heat to medium and incorporate the garlic
Cook for about a minute, stirring constantly
Add the liqueur and, with a wooden spoon, scrape the bottom of the pan
Reduce the heat and cook almost all liquid to evaporate
Serve warm.
