Leave the chocolate on a wire rack for 15 minutes in a warm place to slightly soften
Use a vegetable peeler or a small knife to scrape off large pieces of chocolate from the surface
Scrape off smaller pieces from the side of the chocolate
Lift the shavings with a fork so they don't break
