Slice the onions into fine rings and cook them over low heat (without adding anything), allowing them to soften in their own juices
When they start to dry, sprinkle with salt and pepper and add the evaporated milk (enough to cover them)
Stir well and let it cook slowly
Repeat the operation with the milk until the can is finished; let it dry and top with cheese
Keep the pan covered over low heat until the cheese melts
This cream is excellent for accompanying roasted meats or pancakes.
