Layer the ingredients in a pot: the mama pulp, sugar, and lime juice
Alternate the layers until all the ingredients are used up
Bring to a boil over high heat with the pot uncovered, allowing the sugar to melt and the mixture to thicken
Reduce the heat and simmer for about 1 hour without stirring, or until the mama pulp becomes transparent but still slightly crunchy
Turn off the heat and let it rest in the same pot for a day and night
Serve at 12 portions
Note: The appropriate pot is one made of non-reactive materials such as stainless steel, iron, agate, or stone-sand
