1 cup toasted and chopped hazelnuts (available in jars)

Beat the butter or margarine with the flour and egg until light and fluffy
Add the melted chocolate and mix well
Add the all-purpose flour and mix well
Refrigerate for 1/2 hour
Shape the mixture into small balls, about 2 cm in diameter
Coat with egg white and hazelnuts
Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving about 5 cm between each ball
Press the center of each ball with your finger to form an indentation
Bake in a moderate oven for 10 minutes
Remove from the oven, press again with the aid of a wooden spoon handle
Bake for another 10 minutes or until cooked through
Let cool slightly
Remove from baking sheet
Just before serving, fill the cavity with gelato.
