1/2 kg of lentils
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 medium onion, chopped
4 tablespoons of butter (or oil)
salt and black pepper to taste

Soak the lentils for at least a day ahead of time
Drain and rinse
Bring to a boil in a large pot with enough water to cover them
Once cooked, season with fried garlic and onion in butter (or oil)
Mix everything together and season with salt and black pepper to taste
Serve hot in 4 portions
Note: If you wish to add an extra flavor dimension, use curry powder: add 1/2 teaspoon for a special taste.
