Place the olive oil in a deep bowl with the tomatoes, peeled and seeded, cut into cubes (retaining as much tomato juice as possible)
Add the well-chopped garlic and basil
Cover and let it rest for 2 hours or more
When serving, season with salt and pepper to taste
Mix with cooked spaghetti al dente, drained, hot, and serve immediately
Serve in 6 portions.
