In a bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, and salt
Mix well with a wooden spoon and then knead until smooth
Divide into 6 equal portions
Blend the crackers in a blender for just a few seconds to avoid crumbs, and place them on a paper plate
Shape each portion of meat into long logs and thread onto a wooden skewer
Coat each log with some cracker crumbs
Cut the smoked bacon slices first along their length and then across their width to get 12 pieces
Arrange the 6 skewers in a baking dish, placing the bacon slices on top in the shape of a cross, and bake in a hot oven (220°F) for about 30 minutes
Using a slotted spoon, remove the skewers from the baking dish and place them in a serving platter
Serve 6 skewers.
